The inspiration behind the artwork
Access to insulin is political
This print was designed for the 17th May 2021 and is a homage to Shepard Fairey’s Hope poster for Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. This political design felt fitting in celebrating 100 years since Sir Frederick Banting’s life-changing discovery and the ongoing issue that over 50% of people living with type 1 diabetes cannot reliably access insulin because it is either unavailable, unaffordable or both.
Diabetes by Design is donating 20% of sales of this print to T1International, a non-profit organisation focused on making access to insulin a reality for all.
